Abstract

The article shows the dependence of ground pressure on the number of wheels and tire inflation pressure for dump trucks, the dependence of tire pressure, tire deformation and contact patch length on tire inflation pressure and tire temperature. Currently, some of the dump trucks in Russian quarries are operated in off-road conditions on soils with low bearing capacity. Work on weak soils requires the use of vehicles with high crosscountry ability and low specific pressure on the ground. One way to improve off-road mobility is to use articulated dump trucks.
