Abstract

AbstractThe sintering behavior and the mechanical properties of syntactic foams produced by means of metal‐powder injection moulding depend on the interaction of the metal matrix and the integrated hollow spheres. In order to investigate these mechanisms, Ni‐powder size was varied in the production of FeNi36‐syntactic foams with integrated hollow micro glass spheres. For mechanical characterization tensile tests and RFDA‐measurements were performed as the respective parameters were expected to react most sensitively upon variations of the foam structure.
