Abstract

Excavation of foundation pit can cause surface subsidence and ground movement, further influencing the force and deformation of adjacent tunnel, threatening the safety of tunnel. ZSI is a kind of safety evaluation method based on Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion. It can evaluate the safety and risk of rock and soil mass according to different stress and strain state of the unit, which is an effective way to study local progressive failure of rock and soil mass. Taking the deep foundation pit of Dalian as an engineering example, analyze of the influence of foundation pit excavation on adjacent metro tunnels based on ZSI. In the construction process, the foundation pit and tunnel have been monitored dynamically, and are compared with the numerical simulation results. The results indicate that numerical simulation and field monitoring are basically the same, the overall tendency of settlement curve is also consistent. The achievements may provide references for design and construction of similar projects.
