Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of percutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation on postoperative cognitive function and immune function of patients after laparoscopic myomectomy. Methods Ninety patients who were treated by laparoscopic myomectomy in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2015 to March 2018 were selected. All patients were divided into two groups by lottery, with 45 cases in each group. Patients in observation group were treated by percutaneous acupoint electric stimulation, while patients in control group were treated by intravenous infusion of dexmedetomidine. Patients in the two groups were induced and maintained by routine anaesthesia. Immune function and serum S100β protein level were recorded before anesthesia induction (T0), after operation (T1) and 24 hours after operation (T2) in the two groups. The incidences of postoperative adverse reactions and postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) were compared between the two groups. Results In the two groups, CD4+ , CD8+ , CD4+ /CD8+ at T1, T2 time point were lower than those at T0 time point, while S100β protein level was higher than that at T0 time point, and the levels of above indexes at T2 time point were better than those at T1 time point (P<0.05). CD4+ , CD8+ , CD4+ /CD8+ , S100β of observation group were better than those of control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidences of postoperative adverse reactions and POCD in observation group were lower than those in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Transcutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation can improve the immune function of patients after laparoscopic myomectomy, regulate the level of S100β protein and reduce the incidence of cognitive impairment. It is worthy of clinical application. Key words: Laparoscopic hysteromyoma extraction; Transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation; Postoperative cognitive function; Immune function
