Abstract

The pathological report, as an important medical document, not only plays an irreplaceable and important role in guiding the clinical diagnosis and treatment of diseases, but also has an indispensable role and significance in ICD coding; and it is not enough for tumor morphology coding to depend only on the pathological diagnosis in the homepage in actual work. The author discusses and illustrates the features and points of different types of pathological report ICD coding based on affirmative, speculative, descriptive and negative pathological reports, thereby demonstrating that a qualified coder must learn to read the pathological report.
