Abstract

Abstract The influence of the oxygen partial pressure on the wetting behaviour in the system Si Si 3 N 4 has been studied at 1450°C using the sessile drop method. The results have shown that the contact angle is a strong function of the oxygen partial pressure. Complete wetting could be achieved at very low oxygen partial pressures of around 10−24 atm.
