Abstract

The development of cardiovascular diseases is directly influenced by angiogenesis. Numerous studies have shown that the process of vascular formation is affected by fluctuations in cellular calcium concentration. This process in endothelial cells determines their future phenotype: tip cells (active cells initiating and determining the direction of new vessels) or stem-cells (regulating differentiation and cell distribution in vessels) [1].
