Abstract

Objective To explore clinic dressing room optimization process management on reducing patients wound infection rate and improve the influence on the quality of management. Methods The original dressing process management defects and shortages of the original process management in 2010 were assessment and optimized. And optimization process management was implemented in January 2011 to December. Then, before and after optimization process management implementation, wound infection rate of clean the wound dressing and debridement suture wound dressing, patients' satisfaction, and management quality were observed and compared. Results Before and after optimization process management implementation, wound infection rate (1.39% vs 0.39%) and patients' satisfaction (92.8% vs 99.9%) were significantly improved (x2 =6.23,5.67,respectively;P < 0.01).The project quality management environment layout, operating rules, disinfection and isolation, aseptic technique, medical waste disposal, health education coverage average comparison, after the implementation,[(99.13 ± 1.64),(98.06 ± 1.27),(99.95 ± 1.04),(99.75 ± 2.12),(99.25 ±1.33),(99.96 ±0.21)] were higher than that before the implementation [(91.65 ±2.10),(91.21 ±2.73),(93.82 ± 1.35),(93.58 ± 3.89),(90.34 ± 2.14),(90.27 ± 1.55)],and the differences were statistically significant (t =6.47,4.73,4.96,5.131,4.89,6.35,respectively;P < 0.01).Conclusions Optimization process management can effectively control patients' wound infection in outpatient dressing room, and improve their satisfaction and quality of nursing management.
