Abstract

The trench stability of the trench cutting re-mixing deep wall (TRD) is one of the key factors related to construction safety and quality. The safety factor is used in this study to accurately indicate stability of trench. Different depths correspond to different safety factors, and the area above the water table is not affected by groundwater in the calculation of the safety factor. Therefore, the safety factor should be calculated according to the depth of the tension crack zone and the groundwater table. Based on the ultimate force analysis method and the simplified plane sliding model, the safety factor equation including the mud shear strength is obtained. The curve of the TRD trench safety factor is obtained by analysing the working area of the mud shear strength in the trench. The TRD safety factor calculation method is obtained by comprehensively considering the above factors, which provides a theoretical basis for the safe construction of the TRD.
