Abstract

This article presents a theoretical and practical account of Morita therapy and the therapeutic methods espoused by Karen Homey at the end of her life. Karen Morney travelled to Japan the year before her death. She presented a collection of final lectures after her visit to Morita therapy hospitals in Tokyo and Kyoto. This article demonstrates how Horney's methods of analysis are associated with the paradoxical isolation-rest stage of Morita therapy and its successive activity stages.
