Abstract
The Magnesium (Mg) doped Zinc Sulphide (ZnS) thin films were synthesized by the low-cost chemical bath deposition (CBD) technique. The ZnS films were deposited for different doping concentrations of magnesium (Mg). XRD patterns of the films showed a cubic phase with a preferred (111) plane orientation. The crystallinity of the films was varied with magnesium doping. The bandgap of the film was decreased from 3.76 eV to 3.37 eV with magnesium. The photoluminescence of the undoped and doped ZnS films was investigated. The electrical properties of the films were changed significantly with magnesium doping.
