Abstract

The evolution of monochromatic waves in an interfacial medium separating a liquid and a gas is investigated. Two viscosity effects are found and studied: a dispersive effect and a damping effect. The introduction of a constant tension tends to eliminate the viscous effects. Finally, if the interface is similar to a material film and is characterized by an elastic-type behavior, the effects of inertia and elasticity film are presented.
