Abstract
The phase diagram of the antiferromagnetic spin-1/2 Ising-like model on the octahedral lattice with different strength of the nearest-neighbor interactions in all horizontal planes of the lattice in comparison to all nearest-neighbor interactions between them is investigated in the appropriate recursive lattice approximation. The existence of the intermediate phase that separates two dominant antiferromagnetic phases is shown and the nature of all phase transitions between various phases is determined. The sublattice as well as total magnetization properties of all phases of the model are studied. It is shown that the introduced interaction-generated anisotropy has strong impact on the very existence of the phenomenon of the weak ferromagnetism as well as on its magnetization properties in such pure antiferromagnetic spin systems.
