Abstract

When inducer is attached to centrifugal pump in order to improve the suction performance of the pump, the inducer is required to have better suction performance and enough total head. Then cambered inducer which is expected to satisfy these requirements is suggested because its inlet and outlet angles can be selected independently. In this paper, experimental studies of several cambered inducers that were made on same design conditions except inlet and outlet angles were performed and followings were clarified. First, the outlet angle had effects on the exit flow condition and the total head of inducer. Second, the suction performance of the pump equipped with inducer was determined by inlet angle but influenced by the suction performance of pump when the total head of inducer was not enough.
