Abstract

An experimental investigation was made of the performance of IFP-8000 flashlamps in compact illumination enclosures. It was established that the electrical conductivity of the gas-discharge plasma increased by ~30% and the discharge temperature by ~ 15%, compared with a flashlamp operated in the open, but the maximum safe output energy decreased by a factor of ~ 1.5.
