Summary

Introduction

Energy problems in Indonesia began with a shortage of energy supplies that were not managed properly. It is estimated that in 2019-2020 the national electricity needs will grow by 8-9 percent per year, so it is necessary to accelerate the construction of the plant and its distribution. This indicates that each year about 5,700 MW of new generating capacity is needed. The development strategy is carried out by PT PLN in meeting electricity needs through the utilization of light electricity, renting diesel plants and making private electricity purchases. This effort requires a large budget in investing in electricity infrastructure to the corners of villages and islands. The high need for electricity subsidies is a problem experienced by PT PLN in distributing electricity to 6 million people and the growing industry, as well as the growing population
