Abstract

Abstract The high temperature annealing treatment given to CaF2:Tm phosphor from 100 oC to 800 oC is described. The thermoluminescent (TL) properties were investigated by studying the residual TL, its sensitivity and glow curve at different annealing treatments. The experimental results indicate that (1) there is no difference in the TL output for annealing temperatures less than 400 oC, (2) the TL sensitivity decreases as the annealing temperature increases, and (3) the low temperature peak shifts to the low temperature region and the high temperature peak shifts to the high temperature region as the annealing temperature increases.
