Abstract
A technique for preparing Si20Te80glasses with different degrees of structural perfection is presented. The basic parameters of these materials (such as the refractive index, optical absorption coefficient, density, thermal conductivity, and heat capacity) are determined. The electrical, acoustical, and acoustooptical properties and the dispersion of optical absorption of the prepared alloys are investigated over wide ranges of temperatures and frequencies. A comparative analysis of the properties of the samples subjected to heat treatment and quenching under different conditions is carried out. Possible mechanisms of the observed phenomena are discussed.
