Abstract

Purpose: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a disease that causes degenerative changes in articular cartilage, resulting in joint deformities and functional disorders. Aging is one of the most important pathogenesis of OA, and it has been reported that decreased expression of Sirtuin1 (SIRT1) is associated with cellular senescence. On the other hand, heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) is an important factor in the stress response mechanism of chondrocytes and acts as a chondroprotective factor. In HeLa cells, SIRT1 regulates the activation of heat shock factor (HSF), a transcription factor of HSP70.
