Abstract

An analysis of the relatjive contributions of refraction and diffraction to the angular divergence of radiation emitted from electron-beam-controlled lasers shows that, in the case of unstable telescopic resonators smaller in size than the energy deposition region, it is possible to increase considerably the energy of that part of the radiation whose divergence is due to diffraction.
