Abstract

Ozone concentration and ozone yield are throughly studied as part of an ozone production system. In addition to these values, ozone production per hour is the most important parameter to determine processable volume of ozone. Our final goal is to improve ozone production per hour. Here the influence of gas flow rate and pressure in reactor on ozone production is investigated using a compact pulsed power generator. A new ozone generation system was developed using a pulsed power supply. This system consists of two parts: a pulse power supply and an ozone reactor. The pulsed power supply is used for a magnetic pulse compression circuit, which consists entirely of solid-state devices. Specification include: maximum voltage of about 9 kV ; pulse voltage rise time of about 40 ns; and maximum repetition rate of 2000 pulses per second (pps). The ozone reactor utilizes a wire-to-plane electrode with a gap of 6 mm, a distance between wires of 12 mm and a wire length of 180 mm. Using an air flow rate of 40 to 300 L/min, an output voltage 9 kV, a repetition rate of 1000 to 2000 pps, Influence of gas flow rate and pressure in reactor on ozone production is investigated.
