Abstract

1. The changes in frequency and intensity of the benzene ring vibrations in the 1600–1660 cm1 interval upon introduction of F atoms into the ring are not related to any change in form of the vibrations. 2. The regularities observed in change of intensity of ν8 vibrations in the Raman spectra of polyfluoroaromatic compounds under the influence of substituents (including those with multiple bonds) are analogous to what is observed for other substituted benzenes, but the changes are less pronounced.
