Abstract

$^{57}\mathrm{Fe}$ M\ossbauer-effect studies of the reentrant spin-glass (RSG) state of ${\mathrm{Au}}_{0.832}$${\mathrm{Fe}}_{0.168}$ have been performed in the temperature range 4.2\ensuremath{\le}T\ensuremath{\le}80 K in external magnetic fields ${\mathit{B}}_{\mathrm{ex}}$ up to 3 T. A detailed analysis of the M\ossbauer spectra within the framework of the so-called canting model for the RSG state is presented. Neither a change of the reentrance temperature ${\mathit{T}}_{\mathit{f}}$ nor of the canting angle is observed. This result is compared with a mean-field-theory prediction on ${\mathit{T}}_{\mathit{f}}$(${\mathit{B}}_{\mathrm{ex}}$) and experimental data in other RSG systems.
