Abstract

The present article demonstrates the dependence of the infrared stimulable luminescence of CaS:Eu2+;Sm3+ on the anionic partner of the used rare earth dopant compound. Subjected to two different dopant compounds (Eu2O3, Sm2O3 or EuCl3, SmCl3), discrepancies to the common model of trapping and release of the charge carriers are presented. According to temperature dependent measurements of photo- and infrared stimulated luminescence, improved models of the storage mechanism are given.
