Abstract
SummaryThe influence is discussed of the silicon carbide powder present in suspension on the polarisation curves of the cathodic reduction of nickel ions The importance is emphasized of the powder properties especially their impurities and the magnitude of their specific area. The effect is also considered of brightening and wetting agents on the kinetics of deposition of Ni-SiC dispersion coatings. On account of the great technlogical interest in high-hardness and wear resistance coatings on aluminium substrates a part of the investigations was performed on aluminium alloy cathodes.
