Abstract

The influence of disorder and lattice effects on the striped phase of the cuprates and nickelates is studied within a perturbative renormalization group (RG) approach. Three regimes are identified: the free gaussian stripe, the flat stripe pinned by the lattice, and the disorder pinned stripe. Also, the effect of the stripe fluctuations on the spin correlations are discussed where we account for weak stripe-stripe interactions. We compare our findings with recent measurements on the La-based nickelates and cuprates and find good agreement with our calculations.PACS numbers71.45.Lr74.20.Mn74.72.Dn75.30.F
