Abstract

Background: In the Marche, an Italian Region, is starting a population colorectal cancer screening, for people aged between 50-69 years. Screening program include Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) every other year, followed by colonoscopy for people with a positive FOBT. Bowel preparation is fundamental for accuracy of colonoscopy. Aim: to evaluate the efficacy of different procedures of ingestion of bowel preparation based on polyethylene glycol solution (PEG). Methods: We include all patients aged 50-69 years scheduled to perform a colonoscopy after a positive FOBT prescribed as part of individual or population screening program.
