Abstract

In the study, specimens from fluid and highly fluid concrete specimens containing different kinds of chemical admixtures and cement types for various strength concrete classes were prepared and tested for compressive strength and modulus of elasticity. Concrete specimens were produced with ordinary Portland cement (PC 42,5) and two different types of Portland composite cements (PCC-A 32,5 and PCC-B 32,5R). Superplasticizer, set retarder, set accelerator, air entraining agent and hiper-plasticizer were used as chemical admixtures in concrete mixtures. Test results of concrete specimens were experimentally analyzed and compared. The results have indicated that strength values of concrete containing air entraining agent were higher than those of concretes containing set accelerating and set retarding admixtures. PCC-B 32,5R concrete having highly fluid consistency showed the highest strength development. High-strength concretes exprienced less strength development than lower strength concretes.
