Abstract

In this study, hexaferrite Sr0.65La0.35Fe11.7Co0.30−xCuxO19 (0≤x≤0.30) magnetic powders and magnets have been prepared by the ceramic process. X-ray diffraction was performed to investigate the microstructures of the magnetic powders. The results show that a single magnetoplumbite phase is obtained for the magnetic powders with Cu content (x) from 0 to 0.30. A field emission scanning electron microscopy was hired to explore the micrographs of the magnets. The magnets are formed of hexagonal-shaped crystals. A permanent magnetic measure equipment was used in order to study the magnetic properties of the magnets. The remanence, maximum energy product and Hk/Hcj ratio of the magnets first increase till x=0.10, and then decrease with the increase of x from 0.10 to 0.30. However, the intrinsic coercivity and magnetic induction coercivity of the magnets decrease with the increase of x from 0 to 0.30.
