Abstract

Traditional forms of microelements for agricultural animals have a number of shortcomings for physiological-biochemical compatibility criteria and the combination of bio elements at different stages of metabolism. When solving this problem, a special role is played by vitamin-mineral biologically active additives. It is known that the traditional forms of trace elements - ferrum, copper and zinc sulphates - are toxic and most aggressive towards vitamins, enzymes and other biologically active substances that are part of mixed fodders. Therefore, animal husbandry needs safe and effective biologically active additives. An alternative to them may be bio preparations containing metals (Fe, Co, Cu) in the form of nanosized particles. The purpose of the study was to study the effect of copper nanopowder (NP Cu) on parameters of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism of Holstein heifers during the growth of animals. The influence of NP Cu on the live weight, biochemical parameters of blood and on the assimilation and exchange of fat-like substances is shown. The introduction of NP Cu promoted some increase in the live weight of calves after five months by 6.8% and the increase after 11 months was 9.8% as compared to the control. Activation of carbohydrate metabolism of experimental animals was also observed. The results of the research showed that the introduction of copper nanopowder helps to increase the body weight, stimulates the absorption of nutrients in the diet and activates the processes of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism of experimental animals, which in the future will lead to their productivity increase.
