Abstract

Objective To explore the influence of continuous nursing mode on Barthel Index and body function of stroke patients, and to provide data support for long-term nursing of stroke patients. Methods A total of 100 cases of stroke patients who received treatment in the neurological rehabilitation ward of the hospital from January to October 2016 were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group with 50 cases in each group.Patients in the observation group received continuous nursing mode, while patients in the control group received telephone follow-up nursing mode. The difference of Barthel Index and body function between the two groups was compared after 1 year's follow-up. Results Before the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in the scores of body functions between the two groups(P>0.05). After 1 year of follow-up, limb motor function, joint activity, muscle tone, balance ability, visuospatial nerve, sensory function, limb function on the healthy side, language function, and pain score in the observation group were all increased compared with those before the intervention, with statistically significant differences(P 0.05). At 3 months, 6 months and 1 year after the intervention, the Barthel Index in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusions Continuous nursing mode after discharge of stroke patients can improve their self-care ability, physical function and life self-care ability, which is worthy of promotion and application. Key words: Stroke; Continuous nursing mode; Barthel Index; Somatic function
