Abstract
SummaryColchicine administered to tissue cultures of rat skeletal muscle in concentrations of 10-8 molar or greater causes a breaking-up of the sarcoblastic ribbons into short, widened segments of apparently decreased consistency. These segments remain viable. 9 other biologically active agents used as controls have no such effect. A possible mechanism of this action of colchicine is discussed.
