Abstract

48 h incubation of bovine lenses was performed in which one lens of a pair was subjected to Catalin® (0.6 × 10<sup>––</sup><sup>4</sup> M), the other serving as control. Subsequently, the sorbitol concentrations were determined. Lenses under the influence of Catalin showed a significantly decreased concentration in sorbitol. The possible mode of action is discussed.
