Abstract

1. The ductility of Cr−Mn Kh21G7AN5 and Kh17G9AN4 steels containing nitrogen at low temperatures decreases after tempering as the result of the precipitation of the Cr23C6 carbide along the grain boundaries. 2. When the carbon concentration is 0.03% or less the tempered steel is not subject to embrittlement at temperatures down to −253°C.
