Abstract
This paper discusses the influence that the location of a bus stop has on traffic flow and passenger satisfaction when they are near to a signalised intersection. Traffic flow is modelled to measure traffic delay and passenger usage under a variety of traffic flows and signal cycle times. It concludes that maximum benefits can be obtained if the bus stops are located both prior to and immediately following the signalised intersection.
