Abstract

A procedure is presented for analysis of measures to protect buildings, underground pipelines, and railroad tracks from the effect of horizontal deformations, and curvature or benches in the bed during underworking. Forces of passive and active soil pressures are taken into account in analyzing the effect of horizontal deformations on strip foundations of load-bearing-wall buildings, and the existence of both active friction forces, and also reactive forces are considered in analyzing underground pipelines and railroad tracks.
