Abstract

Crystalline Barium substituted Sr1-xBaxTiO3 (x =0.0, 0.04, and 0.08) system nanomaterials were successfully prepared via modified sol-gel citrate precursor technique at 800˚C temperatures. A comparative study of the structural, morphological, optical properties and catalytic activity is reported. Synthesized nanomaterials were analyzed by X-ray diffraction and FTIR. Pristine SrTiO3 compound found to be cubic structure. On substitution of Ba in Sr-site, the slight distortion in XRD diffraction peaks were observed. Photo-catalytic efficiency using UV-Visible Spectroscopy was investigated by photo-degradation of synthetic dye in Laundry wastewater employing solar light, and found to be promising photo-catalysts. The catalytic potentiality was also explored for the synthesis of dihydropyrimidinone using Biginelli reaction and the product was found to increase upto 20% for Sr0.2Ba0.8TiO3 with the highest concentration of Barium.
