Abstract

Influence of aminoacid anions on the absorption process of Mg2+ ions in vitro - The results of the research on influence of modification in the structure of magnesium salts with glycine on the process of Mg (11) ions absorption were presented in this paper. A flow-through apparatus containing a piece of small intestine of a rat was used for the absorption rate measurement of selected organic magnesium salts. The results of the investigations showed the positive influence of modification of the structure on the absorption process. A correlation was established between quantity of absorbed magnesium and the partition coefficient values (log P).

Highlights

  • Ofloxacin (OFX) is a potent antibacterial drug, which belongs to the class of fluoroquinolone derivatives (1)

  • The Powder X-ray diffractometry (PXRD) patterns, over the 28 range from 10 to 40°, of OFX solid dispersions with CTS, polyethylene glycol (PEG) 4000, PEG 20000, and PVP are compared with OFX and each of the carriers (Fig. 1)

  • No peak indicating crystallinity of OFX was detected from the PXRD patterns of solid dispersions at a ratio of 1:9

Summary

Introduction

Ofloxacin (OFX) is a potent antibacterial drug, which belongs to the class of fluoroquinolone derivatives (1). Keywords : ofloxacin, chitosan, solid dispersion, dissolution,PEG, PVP The solid dispersions of OFX and different carriers were prepared at weight ratios of 1:1, 3:7, and 1:9 (drug to carrier) by solvent evaporation method using chloroform as solvent.
