Abstract

In practical engineering applications, the Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer(CFRP)encapsulated Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor was pasted on the substrate surface by the adhesive layer to monitor the strain of the substrate. The strain of the substrate was transferred to the packaging layer through the adhesive layer, and the packaging layer transferred the strain to the FBG sensor. Performance parameters of the FBG sensor in the sensor system stability depends on the measure precision of the sensor system, different kinds of thickness of adhesive, paste, paste the length affects the performance parameters of the FBG sensor, based on the long-term cyclic loading fatigue test to study the adhesive layer to the influence of the performance parameters of the FBG sensor. By comparing the effect of 0.14mm and 0.28mm paste thickness on the performance parameters of the FBG sensor, the performance parameters of the sensor with 0.14mm paste thickness have less change. In engineering application, the small paste thickness should be selected as far as possible to ensure no degumming.
