Abstract

Sorption isotherms of some n-alcohols on octyl-agarose were determined with a static batch method, based on a highly accurate concentration determination. The extent of sorption is composed to that on octyl-silica. Using solution theories and a partition model, the extent of sorption on octyl-agarose and on octyl-silica was predicted and compared to the experimental values. The mechanism of sorption is discussed.
