Abstract

We investigated the effects of four additives (Sb 2O 3, Na 2O, CaO and ZrO 2) on the properties of Ni 0.255Zn 0.745Fe 2O 4 ferrite, having Curie point around 0°C. Na 2O and Sb 2O 3 favour the densification of the ferrite at low temperature, but increase T c. CaO improves the density and decreases T c. All additives improve the temperature dependence of μ i and the electrical resistivity. The best additive seems to be CaO which accomplishes the best compromise with respect to the density, electrical resitivity and the shape of μ i – T curve.
