Abstract

Abstract The main objective of this study is to utilize fly ash material obtained from cement industries in a M20 grade mix and the behaviour of the concrete matrix with fly ash constituents are monitored upon. Basic strength tests like compressive, tensile and flexure properties were studied upon and the results were tabulated. The fly ash was added at 5% in the concrete mix and with addition to this mix, sea water replaced the conventional one in the mix and the structural characteristics were ascertained. With addition of this fly ash component, there seems to be an optimistic increase in base strength properties of the mix and also a sound result when it comes to the structural characteristic of this building material.
