Abstract

This paper gives the results of experimental investigations of reduction of magnetite pellets with different sizes of added anthracite under nitrogen atmosphere in the temperature range of 1237 to 1433 K. Dependance of degree of reduction on time, temperature and coal sizes is determined, which enabled the temperature dependence of rate constants, activation energies and preexponential factors to be determined. Also, the dependance of activation energy upon the specific surface area and the average grain diameter of added solid reductant-anthracite is presented.
