Abstract
ABSTRACT Abscisic acid (ABA) inhibits the germination of dormant and non-dormant apple embryos irrespective of the oxygen level in the atmosphere. In some cases, this inhibition is partially reversible, even with dormant embryos. ABA proved to be effective on germination sensu stricto as well as on the growth of the embryonic axis.
