Abstract

We consider the influence of a thin elastic film on a screw dislocation in an elastic semi-infinite substrate. In contrast to the usual assumption of a perfectly bonded interface across which both tractions and displacements are assumed to be continuous, we assume that the material interface is imperfect and represented by a viscoelastic model. Using integral transforms, we obtain the analytic solution corresponding to the deformation field and the interacting force between the dislocation and the interface.
