Abstract

We report on the effect of a longitudinal magnetic field in the plasma emission system of a forevacuum-pressure, plasma-cathode electron beam source utilizing a hollow-cathode glow discharge, and on the electron emission properties of the magnetized plasma. We show that the degree and character of the magnetic field effect are in many ways determined by the geometry of the hollow cathode plasma source.
