Abstract

The effects of discontinuous flow led to a significant decrease in strength and plasticity, and reduce the quality of the material surface (Krishtall M.M., Estrin Y., McCormik P.G., Wang X.G., etc.). The localization of a plastic flow because of the formation of deformation bands leads to a difference in material thickness, to the formation of defects and premature failure. One of the main tasks in the numerical and experimental study of the Portevin– Le Chatelier (PLC) effect is to establish the main physical and mechanical factors that cause the occurrence of this type of instability of plastic deformation and to determine the region of its existence. The paper presents a small analysis of works where numerical studies of the PLC effect are associated with experimental studies. Due to the fact that in real technological processes the material undergoes complex loading; and to determine the parameters of various models, the results of experiments obtained under uniaxial loading are not enough; the article presents the methodology and results of studying the effect of complex loading on the behavior of Al-Mg alloy.
