Abstract

The broadband infrared laser induced white emission (LIWE) of sol-gel derived Nd-doped Y2Si2O7 nanocrystals was recorded in vacuum conditions. It was found that LIWE intensity increased exponentially with increasing excitation power density and order of the process was dependent on Nd3+ concentration. Observed emission exhibits a threshold behaviour and a pressure dependence.
