Abstract

AbstractThe appropriate specification of boundary conditions is the main difficulty in the finite element solution of the streamfunction–vorticity equations for two‐dimensional incompressible laminar flows. In this context, we show that the appropriate specification of both the outflow and the inflow boundary conditions is required for the successful modelling of two well known test problems.
