Abstract

Spinal cord injury (SCI) affects around half a million new cases worldwide and 17,900 in the US every year (1,2). It occurs most often in young men at the peak of their reproductive health, resulting in severely impaired fertility. Most men with SCI have semen with normal sperm concentrations but have severely impaired sperm motility and viability.
